Shipping

Fledglings currently ships within the United Kingdom (including the Isle of Man and Channel Islands) only. For international orders, please email us at enquiries@fledglings.org.uk as we may be able to arrange shipping offline.

Shipping Information within the UK

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

If your order includes items from more than one supplier, an additional charge may apply to contribute towards shipping costs. This allows us to keep product prices as low as possible rather than building delivery costs into every item.

Why We’ve Made Changes to Our Shipping

Royal Mail recently increased its prices to us by over 30%. We made the decision not to pass that full increase directly on to our customers.

To help keep delivery charges as fair and sustainable as possible, we have moved to DPD for all orders dispatched from our own warehouse.

Warehouse Orders (Dispatched by Fledglings)

DPD £5.49 + VAT

  • Order cut-off time: 12:00pm
  • Orders placed before 12:00pm will be dispatched the same day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)
  • We do not dispatch on Thursdays. This helps us manage rising courier costs and keep delivery charges lower overall.
  • Our warehouse is closed at weekends and on bank holidays.

Once dispatched, you will receive tracking details directly from DPD.

Unsuitable Returns

If an item is returned in a condition unsuitable for resale (for example used, damaged, missing packaging or unhygienic), we cannot provide a full refund.

In such cases, you will be given two options:

  • We can return the item to you for a fee of £5 (payable in advance).
  • We may offer a partial refund at our discretion, depending on the condition of the item.

Any item returned more than 21 days after delivery

If the item is from our own warehouse, we may issue a partial refund at our discretion based on the condition of the item. If the item is from one of our suppliers, we will liaise with them on your behalf.

Refunds (as applicable)

Once your return has been received and inspected, you will be notified by email of the approval or rejection of your refund.

  1. Refunds may take up to 3 working days to appear in your account once processed.
  2. Drop-ship suppliers may apply a restocking fee, which will be deducted from your refund. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure about an item’s suitability.

As a not for profit CIC, we kindly ask that customers cover the cost of return postage. Every purchase supports Contact, the national charity for families with disabled children.
