Crelling Model 1 and Model 2 are supportive 5-point wheelchair harnesses designed to help children and adults maintain a stable, upright seated position. Each includes a waist belt, shoulder straps and an under-seat strap.

Description

Crelling Model 1 and Model 2 5-Point Wheelchair Harnesses provide supportive postural stability for children and adults who need help maintaining a secure, upright sitting position in a wheelchair.

Each full-support wheelchair harness includes a waist belt, two shoulder straps and an under-strap. Together, the five-point design provides support across the upper body and waist, helping to reduce forward slipping and improve seated stability.

The under-strap normally passes beneath the wheelchair seat for secure fitting. Where the wheelchair design allows, it may instead be threaded through the gap between the seat base and backrest, allowing the user to sit directly on the strap.

The harnesses are available in two sizes: Model 1 for adults and older children from approximately 9 years, and Model 2 for children up to approximately 8 years. Both versions are made to order in the UK and dispatched directly from the manufacturer.

Model Options

Model 1 – Adult 5-Point Wheelchair Harness

The Model 1 is designed for older children and adults using standard or larger wheelchairs. It is fitted with a 50 mm Side-Squeeze buckle on the waist belt and is generally suitable from approximately 9 years through to adulthood.

Model 2 – Child 5-Point Wheelchair Harness

The Model 2 is designed for children using junior or smaller wheelchairs. It is fitted with a narrower 40 mm Side-Squeeze buckle and is generally suitable for children up to approximately 8 years.

Fitting and Compatibility

  • Suitable for many standard and junior wheelchair designs
  • Requires suitable access beneath or behind the wheelchair seat for the under-strap
  • The under-strap may pass beneath the complete seat unit
  • Where a suitable gap is available, it may be threaded between the seat base and backrest
  • May be compatible with some specialist or supportive seating systems, subject to their construction
  • Wheelchair and seating compatibility should be checked before ordering

Important Safety Information

  • These wheelchair harnesses provide postural support and a degree of restraint but are not classed as safety harnesses
  • They must not replace the wheelchair’s fitted lap belt or other primary safety restraint
  • The wheelchair’s original safety restraints should continue to be used where required

Production & Delivery

Made to order in England: this product is manufactured to your specification. Please allow up to 10 working days for production before despatch.

Direct from the manufacturer: your order will be shipped directly by the manufacturer. If your basket includes other items, they may arrive in separate parcels.

Once despatched, standard UK delivery timeframes apply. You will receive despatch confirmation and, where available, tracking details.

Crelling Harnesses Returns Policy

Please note: As Crelling Harnesses products are made to order and shipped directly from the manufacturer, their returns policy takes precedence over Fledglings’ standard returns policy.

On delivery, it is the recipient’s responsibility to check the order to ensure it is correct and satisfactory. Any queries or returns must be raised directly with Crelling Harnesses Ltd within 14 days of receipt.

After this time, the order will be deemed satisfactory with regard to model type, quantity received and product quality.

This does not affect your statutory rights or your right to return an item if there is an issue with a specific product.

Faulty Items

In the unlikely event of a faulty item, Crelling Harnesses will offer either a replacement item or a full refund — including initial postage and standard return postage — within the first six months of purchase if it can be proved, or is likely, that the fault was present at the time of purchase.

If more than six months have passed and a fault occurs, it is considered likely to be due to wear and tear. In this case, Crelling will decide whether to repair, refund, or replace the product. All postage costs in these circumstances are the responsibility of the consumer.

This policy is in line with the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

Crelling Harnesses cannot accept an item returned as faulty if the product care instructions have not been followed or if the damage is clearly due to wear, tear or misuse.

Returns Procedure

If you purchased goods directly from Crelling Harnesses and wish to return an item for any reason, please do so within 14 days. Enclose either the returns slip, a copy of the delivery note or invoice, clearly stating the reason for return and whether you require a refund or an exchange.

If you purchased a Crelling item through Fledglings, please contact us first so that we can assist with your return and liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Condition of Returned Goods

Important: Goods must be returned in a clean and as-new condition. A charge may be applied if goods are returned soiled or damaged. The charge will vary depending on the condition and extent of any damage.

All postal charges are the responsibility of the customer. Crelling strongly recommends obtaining a certificate of postage, as you are responsible for the parcel until it has been received at their office.
