The DMO® Essentials Women’s Single Shoulder Orthosis is a ready-to-wear orthotic garment designed to help manage shoulder instability and other shoulder impairments. Its specialist construction provides targeted support to one affected shoulder while allowing the opposite side to remain unrestricted.
The orthosis is designed to draw the shoulder gently back, support the shoulder blade and help stabilise the shoulder joint. This targeted support may encourage improved alignment of the shoulder complex, better posture and a more comfortable range of movement.
By improving shoulder positioning and stability, the orthosis may also support distal function through the arm and hand. It is available for either the left or right shoulder, allowing the garment to be selected for the affected side.
The DMO® Essentials Women’s Single Shoulder Orthosis may be suitable for adult women who require targeted support with shoulder instability, alignment, posture or movement on one side of the body.
It may be recommended for adults with shoulder subluxation, shoulder instability, previous shoulder dislocation, neurological shoulder pain, brachial plexus injury such as Erb’s palsy, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis or Ehlers-Danlos syndromes. It may also be suitable for supporting shoulder stability following a stroke.
The orthosis should be ordered for the affected left or right shoulder. As orthotic compression garments may not be suitable for everyone, it should be selected and used following guidance from an appropriate healthcare or therapy professional, particularly where there are respiratory, circulatory, skin, medical or mobility concerns.
The DMO® Essentials Women’s Single Shoulder Orthosis may be suitable for adult women who require targeted support with shoulder instability, alignment, posture or movement on one side of the body.
