Description

The Pretorian JAZZ Joystick is a compact, light-touch desktop joystick designed for people who find a conventional mouse difficult to control. It responds to broader hand, wrist or forearm movements while still allowing accurate cursor positioning, reducing the need for fine finger control.

JAZZ uses Pretorian’s analogue joystick technology and requires just 0.5 Newtons of operating force. This makes it particularly useful for people with limited strength, dexterity, coordination or controlled movement.

The joystick offers two operating modes. In Mouse Mode, it controls the on-screen cursor as an alternative to a standard mouse. In Switch Scanning Mode, it provides directional scanning control for compatible grid-based AAC devices, such as a suitable Smartbox Grid Pad. The user can move between the two modes without changing access equipment.

Three interchangeable joystick handles are included so the method of control can be adapted around the user. The acorn knob is suitable for general use, the T-bar can be gripped, and the large foam ball can be pushed using the hand, wrist or forearm.
