JollyHeap Medium 50 Soft Magnetic Block

£679.99
Colour Combination: 1123 - green/blue

JollyHeap Medium 50 Soft Magnetic Blocks is a versatile large-scale construction set designed for creative building, active movement and sensory play. With 50 soft magnetic blocks, children can build tunnels, houses, walls, seating, characters, obstacle courses and imaginative structures that are large enough to become part of their play.

The set contains 40 cubes and 10 triangular blocks, providing plenty of scope for both individual play and smaller group activities. Strong neodymium magnets are securely sealed inside each block, helping structures hold together while still allowing children to pull them apart, rearrange them and start again.

Made from resilient foam with a durable fabric exterior, the blocks are soft, lightweight and free from hard external edges. Children can lift, carry, stack, push and separate the pieces, helping to turn construction play into a more physical, whole-body activity.

The Medium set is a particularly useful choice for homes, nurseries, schools, sensory rooms and therapy environments where a substantial construction set is wanted without the footprint of a larger 100-piece collection.

Key Features

  • 50 large magnetic blocks – a versatile set for home, educational and therapy environments
  • 40 cubes and 10 triangles – suitable for building walls, dens, tunnels, furniture, characters and imaginative structures
  • Soft foam construction – resilient polyurethane foam springs back into shape after use
  • Hidden magnetic connections – strong neodymium magnets are permanently sealed inside each block
  • Encourages active play – children can lift, carry, stack, push, pull apart and reposition the blocks
  • Open-ended construction – encourages children to experiment, problem-solve and create without a fixed outcome
  • Suitable for individual or small-group play – enough pieces for collaborative building without requiring a very large play area
  • Quiet magnetic connection – blocks connect with a gentle click rather than the noise associated with many hard construction toys
  • Soft with no hard external edges – designed for large-scale, active construction play
  • Machine washable – the complete blocks can be washed at 30°C
  • Suitable from 12 months
  • EN 71-1, EN 71-2 and EN 71-3 compliant and CE marked
  • Handmade in Poland

Sensory Benefits

  • Proprioceptive input – lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling the large blocks can provide resistance and heavy-work opportunities that support body awareness and purposeful movement.
  • Resistance through magnetic play – separating connected blocks requires controlled pulling force, providing physical feedback through the hands, arms and shoulders.
  • Whole-body movement – larger constructions encourage children to reach, bend, carry, crawl around and move between different parts of their build.
  • Lower-noise construction play – the soft foam blocks and quieter magnetic connections may suit children who find hard, clattering construction toys overwhelming.

SEN Benefits

  • Gross motor development – lifting, carrying and positioning the blocks encourages use of the arms, shoulders, core and larger muscle groups.
  • Motor planning – children can plan where to place each piece, how to connect structures and how to adapt a build when it does not work as expected.
  • Problem-solving and spatial awareness – construction play encourages exploration of shape, position, balance, size and structure.
  • Flexible, open-ended play – activities can be kept simple or developed into more complex builds depending on the child's needs, interests and abilities.
  • Co-operative play – the 50-piece format works well for paired or small-group building, encouraging turn-taking, communication and shared planning.
  • Creating defined spaces – children can use the blocks to build low walls, tunnels, dens and boundaries for different play or sensory activities.

Why Buy JollyHeap Medium?

The Medium set offers a useful balance between size, versatility and storage. With 50 large blocks, there are enough pieces for meaningful structures and collaborative play while remaining manageable for homes, smaller classrooms, therapy rooms and sensory spaces.

The blocks encourage more than traditional tabletop construction. Children can physically carry, arrange, connect and separate the pieces, introducing movement, proprioceptive input, problem-solving and imaginative play into the same activity.

Structures can be rebuilt in countless ways, from tunnels and houses to seating, obstacle courses and child-led creations, helping the set remain adaptable as children's interests and abilities develop.

Important Magnetic Safety Information

WARNING: This product contains strong neodymium magnets sealed inside the blocks. The blocks must not be opened, cut or deliberately damaged. Swallowed magnets can cause serious internal injury.

Strong magnetic fields may interfere with pacemakers, hearing aids and other electronic or medical devices, and may affect magnetic cards, storage media and some electronic equipment. Appropriate distance should be maintained from magnet-sensitive devices.

Inspect the blocks regularly and remove any damaged block from use. Adult supervision is recommended, particularly for younger children and individuals who may attempt to bite, tear or open products.

  • Children aged 12 months+ – large, soft construction blocks designed for accessible, open-ended play.
  • Children with autism and sensory processing differences – offers opportunities for repetitive building, predictable cause and effect through magnetic connection and active proprioceptive play.
  • Children who seek proprioceptive input – carrying, pushing, pulling and separating the blocks provides resistance and whole-body activity.
  • Children developing gross motor skills – encourages lifting, carrying, reaching, bending and moving around larger constructions.
  • Children developing motor planning – building requires children to decide how pieces should be positioned, moved and connected.
  • Children working on spatial awareness and problem-solving – encourages exploration of balance, position, shape and how structures fit together.
  • Children who enjoy construction and imaginative play – suitable for houses, tunnels, animals, furniture, walls, pathways and child-led creations.
  • Paired and small-group activities – 50 pieces provide enough scope for collaborative building and shared play.
  • SEN and specialist education settings – suitable for free play, structured activities, motor-skills sessions and sensory environments.
  • Nurseries and schools – durable, washable construction equipment designed for repeated use.
