The Adult Rip-Resistant T-Shirt 9597 is a strong, durable adaptive garment designed for adults who may pull, stretch, tear or repeatedly remove their clothing. Available with either long or short sleeves, it provides a practical option for everyday wear at home, in residential care or other supported settings.
Made from a robust polyester and cotton blend, the T-shirt features strong stitching and internal seams that are fully reinforced with special tape to help withstand stretching, pulling and ripping. A secure back zip makes independent undressing more difficult, while a press-stud fastening with a protective cover provides an additional level of security.
The fabric is rip-resistant rather than rip-proof. It is designed to withstand pulling, stretching and ripping in most circumstances but is not intended to withstand persistent or extreme behaviour.
The expected lifespan of rip-resistant clothing can vary considerably depending on the individual, their behaviour and how the garment is cared for. As a general guide, garments may last approximately 3 to 12 months.
If the wearer chews or bites clothing, uses sharp objects, or can gain access to and repeatedly pull at internal seams or fabric layers, this garment may not be suitable.
