Made from a robust polyester and cotton blend, the trousers feature strong stitching and internal seams that are fully reinforced with special tape to help withstand stretching, pulling and ripping. The simple pull-on design has no zips or buttons, reducing the number of fastenings that can be pulled, opened or tampered with.

The garment is rip-resistant rather than rip-proof. It is designed to withstand pulling, stretching and ripping in most circumstances but is not intended to withstand persistent or extreme behaviour.

The expected lifespan of rip-resistant clothing can vary considerably depending on the individual, their behaviour and how the garment is cared for. As a general guide, garments may last approximately 3 to 12 months.

For best durability, wash regularly and avoid using fabric softener. If the wearer chews or bites clothing, uses sharp objects, or can gain access to and repeatedly pull at internal seams or fabric layers, this garment may not be suitable.

Correct sizing is important. The trousers should fit securely while still allowing comfortable movement and without placing excessive strain on the fabric or seams.
