Swimwear Advice
Many children and adults enjoy swimming for exercise, fun and therapy. Specialist swimwear and reusable swim nappies can help someone with incontinence issues feel more confident during pool or hydrotherapy sessions. Most families find that as their child gets older, they grow out of the swim nappies you can buy on the high street, making it difficult to go to the pool.
Fledglings supplies a range of incontinence swimwear products which give the wearer more freedom in the pool or on the beach. As an alternative solution to disposable swimming products, they come in a variety of different styles, colours and patterns.
We also offer a selection of Swim Accessories including buoyancy jackets, swim trainers, swimming headbands, and waterproof changing mats .
As with most incontinence swimwear, a good fit is essential to stop leakage. We recommend that you take measurements before buying, as this will help you choose the best size for you. The swimwear needs to be ‘snug' at the waist and the top of the leg. For more information please refer to our Measuring Guide.
Most incontinence swimwear is designed to be washable, but please check with the supplier or manufacturer for the correct washing instructions. As the swimwear has an integral waterproof lining, tumble drying is not recommended. Be aware that as with normal swimwear, the cleaning chemicals used in swimming and hydrotherapy pools can cause fading of fabrics with prolonged use.
