The Octopus car harness provides extra support for those too large for a car seat or needing more security than the car's safety system. It can be used with booster seats and is ideal for those with muscular or functional limitations, postural instability, autism, and other conditions. Check the sizing and weight requirements below.

The Octopus car harness has been designed for individuals too large for a car seat but still requires additional support and a more secure hold than the car’s 3-point safety system. In addition, this harness can be used in conjunction with booster seats, and so helps bridge the tricky transition from the support available in car seats to the often lack of support from booster seats. Just as with car seats/booster seats, there is also a minimum and maximum sizing and weight range for this car harness which you can view below.
The Octopus car harness is designed to cater to individuals with muscular functional limitations, postural instability, weak muscle tone, hyperactivity, perceptual disorders, autism, and those prone to unbuckling or having difficulty understanding the danger. Its features include lockable belt buckles that prevent dangerous unbuckling during the car journey, postural support for the shoulders, upper body, and pelvis to maintain optimal posture during transport, and a padded vest that ensures comfort and prevents pinching.

Please note: The Octopus positioning harness is not classified as a safety harness but a medical device for positioning. Seat belt of the vehicle must be used in front of occupant and over the top of the Octopus harness at all times. For users with a body height of under 135cm a basic booster cushion must be used to comply with current UK car seat laws.
In addition, this harness will not stop someone trying to escape if they are determined to do so.
This cannot be fitted to a high back booster, if the child is below the height for not using a car seat then you need to use just a basic booster cushion (not high back).

Belt extension set - If the vehicle seat (bucket seat) does not have an opening between the seat and back. Please read the brochure for full details. We have been advised that this is rarely required in modern cars.
Please allow 4-5 weeks for delivery.
This item is made to order and can take up to 6 weeks. The 6 weeks starts when we receive the completed questionnaire. We cannot proceed without the questionnaire being emailed to us.
Some suppliers may not ship large items to areas such as Northern Ireland, the Shetland Islands, Isle of Man, Jersey, or Guernsey. If they do, there may be an additional cost. Please contact us before placing your order.
