Introducing the Knee Length SPIO Compression Leggings - Deep Pressure - Cropped/Short leg length, a remarkable addition to the Stabilising Pressure Input Orthosis (SPIO) range. Specifically designed to enhance gait and overall body stability, these leggings prove beneficial when paired with the SPIO TLSO or Upper Body Orthosis.

- Ideal for Various Conditions: This innovative orthosis is ideal for individuals facing conditions such as spastic diplegia, hypotonia, Down Syndrome, Ataxia, Autism, and Sensory Processing Disorder.
- Deep Pressure Sensory Input: SPIO, known as Stabilizing Pressure Input Orthosis, plays a crucial role in assisting patients with stability and proprioceptive deficits through deep pressure. Deep pressure, recognized as a significant somatic input for balance and movement control, is strategically provided by SPIO. The design focuses on delivering enhanced deep pressure sensory input around and towards the midline of the body, ultimately improving dynamic stability and postural activation.
- Calming Effect of Deep Pressure: SPIO ensures even circumferential deep pressure coverage across the body, offering a calming effect on the sensory system. Unlike weighted products, SPIOs can be worn continuously throughout the day, with no break-in period required.
- Lightweight and Breathable: Crafted from a unique lightweight Lycra blend fabric, the SPIO Compression Leggings provide comfort with a strong rebound, aid in compression, and are breathable for extended wear. The multi-directional stretch ensures a comfortable fit.
- Variety of Systems Available: SPIO offers a variety of systems to cater to diverse needs. If you require a specific system not listed, please reach out to us, and we will strive to meet your requirements.
- Maintenance and Washing Instructions: To ensure proper compression, SPIOs should be washed at least every other day. Machine wash with mild detergent in warm or cold water, and hang to dry. The hydrophilic treatment on the fabric attracts moisture away from the skin, making fabric softeners unnecessary. Please note that abuse, alterations, or undue rough wear and tear, including improper washing and drying in a dryer, will void the warranty. The fabric is not fire-resistant, so night-time use is not recommended.

Shipping
Fledglings currently offers shipping to the United Kingdom (including the Isle of Man and Jersey) only. For orders outside the UK, please email us at fledglings@contact.org.uk as we may be able to arrange shipping offline.
Shipping within the UK
Shipping will be calculated at checkout. When items come from a single supplier, the following rates apply. If your order includes products from multiple suppliers, an extra charge will be added at checkout to contribute towards shipping costs. This helps us keep product prices as low as possible. As a one-stop shop, we aim to make it more affordable to buy in one place than purchasing from multiple online retailers and paying shipping at each.
- Second Class Royal Mail shipping: £4.99
- First Class Royal Mail shipping: £6.25
- For First Class shipping, please order before 12pm.
- First Class orders placed after 12pm will be dispatched the next working day.
- Our warehouse is closed on weekends and bank holidays, so First Class orders placed on those days will be dispatched the following working day.
- Items fulfilled by drop-ship suppliers cannot be shipped First Class. Please check the product listing under ‘Shipping Information’ before ordering.
- Some suppliers may not ship large items to areas such as Northern Ireland, the Shetland Islands, Jersey, or Guernsey. If they do, there may be an additional cost. Please contact us before placing your order.
Please note: First Class shipping does not guarantee next-day delivery. Once dispatched, delivery times depend on Royal Mail.
Shipping outside of the UK
We may be able to ship some items internationally. Standard shipping for small parcels to EU countries is £15.
Please note: Additional customs charges or import fees may be payable upon arrival. These vary by country and are outside our control, so we’re unable to confirm the exact amount in advance. We recommend checking with your local customs office for guidance before ordering.

Delivery
Royal Mail
Items in stock are usually dispatched within 2 working days of order processing and delivered to the address provided. Goods remain the property of Fledglings until full payment is received.
Dropship Items
Some products are shipped directly from our suppliers. If this applies, it will be clearly stated under the ‘Shipping Information’ section of the product listing. Please allow up to 10 days for delivery of drop-ship items. Contact us if you need more information.
Returns & Cancellations
If you change your mind or are unhappy with your order, returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of receiving your products. Please allow up to 10 working days for processing. Items must be returned in new condition with original packaging and tags intact where applicable.
To initiate a return, email us at enquiries@fledglings.org.uk with your order number and the item(s) you wish to return. We will provide the correct return address.
Important Notes:
- Items must have all original packaging and tags. Refunds or exchanges will only be issued if the item can be resold.
- For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on certain items including underwear and jewellery. These will be clearly marked on the product listing.
- We strongly recommend obtaining proof of postage or tracking when returning items. We cannot be held responsible for returns lost in transit. Please allow up to 10 working days for processing.
- If you receive a damaged or faulty item, we will refund the full cost including shipping. Refunds are processed once the return has been received and assessed.
- Refunds may take up to 3 working days to appear in your account after processing.
- Drop-ship suppliers may charge a restocking fee which will be deducted from your refund. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether an item is suitable.
As a charity, we ask that customers cover the cost of returning items. Every purchase from Fledglings supports Contact, the national charity for families with disabled children.
